Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Ward.
Hi Megan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I am a 30-year veteran of the hair industry, education has always been at the forefront of my career.
Although I still work behind the chair as a stylist, much of my time is spent on the road educating for Keune Hair Cosmetics. That is where I share with fellow stylists, conducting in-salon workshops.
Originally a native of central NY, I fell in love with East TN while visiting friends. Moving has been an exciting adventure… True North studio bridges the roots of the past and the passion for my future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As we know, things are not always as easy as they seem. My career is my passion and sometimes finding the right culture can be a challenge…
Surrounding yourself with like-minded stylists is so important. Deciding to move gave me the opportunity to define new goals for myself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
One of the most important things I learned from my years being the chair is you have to listen. One of the biggest reasons clients leave their stylists is because of just that.
Hair is a part of our image and how we look and feel about ourselves daily. It is during an in-depth consultation you learn the most about your clients. What they love and even what they’re most concerned about.
