Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenny Campbell.
Hi Kenny, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, in the Karns area. Early on I had an interest in pest control, I grew up with all kinds of critters and enjoyed the adventure! In 1999, I started working at a local pest control company in West Knoxville. Once I started, I realized this was the career for me. In 2003, I joined another local company and where I spent 18 years, and through that I learned the importance of community involvement, and personalized service.
My passion for pest control grew and my wife and I took a step of faith and started our own business.
We have now been in business for just over 4 years and have a new location in the heart of Karns. We have 5 technicians and also offer termite services as well. We have enjoyed serving the local communities and getting to know new people. Our hope is that we can continue to keep the small-town local feel and give personal service to our customers.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
God has truly paved the way for us. With any new business you have your struggles. Opening a business was not something we saw ourselves doing. However, we have been so blessed with faithful customers who have stood by us and supported our business. By His grace He has supplied all our needs, great staff, technicians and customers.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have been in pest control for over 25 years. I love the adventure it brings. Each day brings something new and sometimes exciting! We specialize in general pest control, mosquito, carpenter bee, fall services, termite inspections and treatments. I am known for my customer service skills, I enjoy talking to customers, making them feel at ease and finding out just what their needs are and trying to find the most economical and thorough treatment.
In everything I do I try to be honest and have integrity personally and in my business. I am proud that our team supports that and each of them try to do the same. We operate as a team, but it is like a small family. We try and give opportunities to help our employees grow to the best version they can be.
I think what sets us apart is that we are a small local business. We truly strive to take care of the customer needs. It is a business, but our goal is not money, but honest work and helping the community as we can and giving 100% whether it is the first job of the day or the last.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson we have learned is not to be too proud to ask for help. We do not know everything! We have been able to lean on others strengths to make Kenny’s successful. We have been truly blessed that God has provided for each need as it has come about. Most of all, prayer has been the most important part. My wife and I have prayed for every area of this business from finances to employees, to purchasing vans etc. He has directed our steps.
