Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonna Capone.
Hi Jonna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been a performer for as long as I can remember. Starting in church and school productions, my love for performing has always guided me—the next steps in my career. After graduating college, I found myself in NYC working in hospitality. I have always loved working with people and their stories, and I discovered my passion for people there. While working in a local theatre production, I then found. I am behind the camera and starting my current page, Curvy Capone. This launched my social media journey and started me toward curve modeling. I was signed with my current agencies in New York, LA. London and Utah. Starring in several national print campaigns and commercials, I spread my message of body neutrality, particularly in the entertainment industry. That page started with only 250 followers and now has expanded to almost 300,000 followers. With this platform, I have guided others through their journey in the industry. This led me to my current ATB Talent’s media division head position. As a media agent, I have been blessed to help other actors and performers grow their social media presence. I plan to continue working on my goals and expand the Curvy Capone name throughout the entertainment and media fields.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth ride, but that is all a part of the learning process. Despite hearing more “no’s” than I have heard yes and facing skepticism from many, I have persevered. My personal life has had its share of losses and tribulations, but each has provided profound lessons that have beautifully guided my career.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in acting, singing, and performing as a whole, as well as social media marketing. I am most proud of the connections I have made throughout my career. I especially love the campaigns that have positively impacted other people’s lives.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
My advice to those starting is to practice patience and to stop comparing your journey with others. I, too, spent more time pouting about where I wasn’t than appreciating how far I had come. Appreciating all you have done to get where you are is crucial. Also, listen! It is so important to listen in this world. We miss so much sometimes by allowing the noise of the outside world to affect us. Take time with yourself to hear about the next steps. And remember, you always need more time to finish learning. Always be curious and courageous.
