Today we’d like to introduce you to Devon Potvin.
Hi Devon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in hollywood.fl grew up in a rough neighborhood. Got in with the wrong crowd and went down the path of addiction, woke up one day and completely changed my life since then i have never looked back been sober since[13 years].came to tennessee with a dufflebag on a greyhound bus with my partner that I have been with for 10 years. I’ve worked hard to be able to get myself established as well the blessing to be able to help others around me. I still work full time doing water treatment, while running DDVP. I started the business with the intention on helping and giving back, we do charity work for creeva, and donate most of the items we receive. I hope to one day be able to keep giving back more and more.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No we are always going to run into bumps in the road, it’s how we deal with those obstacles. One struggle I feel we mostly relate to is money I put all my savings into it with the hope of being successful. The start up was a new experience and learning curve that I had to buckle down and learn how to do.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am known for being an honest and hard worker wherever I go with whatever I do always exceeding expectations and goals. I enjoy manual labor ever since I can remember. My father owns his own renovation company in Florida so growing up I soaked up all that knowledge and carry it with me. I’m most proud to be able to do what I do and help others with just about any situation. I work full time for a water treatment company while running the company as well so the ability to stay focused and accomplish everything it takes to be successful.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The people are the best of any city in my opinion. There’s so much out there to learn whether it’s about people or the surrounding area, being from Florida the tallest hill is a dump turned into a park so you can’t beat what the city here has to offer.
I don’t like how long alcoa highway has been taking to complete. Really the roads would be the least favorable for me. Which is a small sacrifice in my eyes to have what we have here.
