Carly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I discovered my passion for photography during my freshman year of high school. I was immediately drawn to film photography and the art of developing film, which sparked my love for the craft. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working as one of the athletic photographers for Maryville College and have also started building my own client base.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in athletic photography, capturing the energy and emotion of sports through my work with Maryville College. However, what truly brings me joy is connecting with couples and helping them create lasting memories. I take pride in building genuine relationships with my clients, which allows me to capture their unique stories authentically. What sets me apart is my ability to blend my technical skills with a personal touch, ensuring every session feels meaningful and memorable.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is the value of building connections. Whether I’m photographing athletes in action or capturing intimate moments for couples, I’ve realized that forming genuine relationships allows me to tell stories in a more authentic and meaningful way. It’s taught me that photography is not just about the technical aspects but also about understanding and honoring the people in front of the lens.
