Today we’d like to introduce you to Pathetic Poetry
So excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started reading poetry a long time ago and I wrote my first poem when I was around 12 years old which were a haiku about a narwhale named Pearl.
Writing peotry really took off last as I have been trying to find different coping macganism since I’m not great at talking about things due to me being on the spectrum. Therefor I tried writing about them as talking is too hard for me to do so.
I mostly write about all the bad stuff as blank papers has sort of become my new therapist in a way.
I started posting my poems on isntagram in the beginning of August on my account @PatheticPoetryByMe to try to reach out to people who might relate. Withing 7 days I gained 700 followers of people supporting due to them relating to my words and that have been such a warm feeling within my heart. Even though I was in the darkest place in life at that moment it was nice to see people’s response to my words and how they helped others
Right now I’m working on at book about love
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle at the moment is my current mental health as in posting and answering people can be mentally exhausting.
I often think of poems in my head but writing at the moment is hard.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I write poetry, especially love poems. Most of my poems have been about the same character portrayed as “Foreverfly ” which is a term I came up with my self.
My favorite selfwritten poem might be “Reincarnation” which were one of the first poems of mine, I posted.
The reasoning for me to to be liking this a lot is because it relates a lot to my real life and things that has been said, like a bigger meaningful conversation about how we believed in reincarnation.
To be honest I don’t know what sets me apart from others. Maybe my stories, what I have experinced or something else. But in the end everybody has experienced different things, so some might relate and some might not. I trying to write about everything I’ve experinced for people to have something to relate to. So in a way I’m trying not to be apart from others, other than the natural way of me not having experinced the same as others.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Classical music: I always listen to music when writing because the words seems to flow easlier that way.
Artist like Gibran Alcocer, Ludovico Einaudi, Patrick Watson and others are a big influence on my writings.
Nature are a big inspiration as well, it helps on my mental health but also on my writing. The feeling of sunlight it self can have a big influence on my mood.
But also other writers like Courteney Peppernel and William blake. Also alot of those who been following since the beginning have become a big inspiration, I’ve been lucky to have grown a fan base based apon other writer and small poets. Instagrams poetry community is such a relaxed and nice group of people. Where people also care for eachother despite not knowing one.
