Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmin Moreno.
Hi Jazmin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started back in third grade while living in Denver, CO. Growing up quickly gave me a unique outlook on life, and it was during an elementary art class, where I worked with clay, watercolor, and sketching, that I discovered my creative spark. Art became my escape.
When my family moved back to my hometown of El Paso, TX, sports became my new outlet. I played basketball and volleyball, learning the power of teamwork and discipline. In high school, I balanced both worlds, art and athletics, and then later explored photography as another creative passion.
After graduating, I moved back to Denver and eventually found my way into the Gemstone and Mineral industry. That job changed everything. It introduced me to the world of handmade jewelry and ignited my path into creative entrepreneurship.
I later moved to Austin, TX, where I continued growing my business and building a supportive creative community. Most recently, I’ve expanded to Knoxville, TN, collaborating with the artist ABK, who introduced me to the Volunteers’ fan base. That connection sparked a new love for the team and sports in general, bringing my journey full circle, most unexpectedly and excitingly.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. Some struggles have been balancing life and business. Staying consistent and positive while juggling so many roles is challenging, but my support system keeps me grounded, and I’m learning to embrace the process.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in supporting others through creativity, connection, and intentional living. Through my brand, I create gemstone jewelry designed for your everyday journey. Each piece carries meaning and purpose, serving as a reminder of your strength and intention.
I’m most proud of the way my work continues to evolve. From jewelry making to building community-centered projects like Game Daze, my passion lies in uplifting creatives, celebrating individuality, and offering support, especially for those who may not have a strong support system themselves.
What sets me apart is my story and the energy I bring into everything I do. I’ve built my path from lived experience, and I lead with empathy, positivity, and purpose. Whether it’s through a piece of jewelry, a conversation, or a collaboration, my goal is always to help others see their light and power.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Knoxville is its growth and strong sense of community. Everyone I’ve met who was born and raised here has shared such positivity and pride in their city. It’s contagious!
If I had to name one thing I like least, it would be the limited number of events that support small businesses and give them space to showcase their work. That said, I see that changing, and I’m excited for the future as more opportunities begin to pop up for local creators and entrepreneurs.
