Hi Jason and Hope, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My husband and I own National Property Inspections East Tennessee. For eight years, he worked as a property inspector with the same company before we took the exciting step of purchasing the business ourselves in August of this year. Before that, I was a stay-at-home, homeschool mom to our two children, so this venture has truly become a family effort.
We provide both residential and commercial property inspections across East Tennessee, and what drives us most is helping people feel confident in their real estate decisions. Buying property is one of the biggest investments most people make, and we take pride in offering the knowledge, care, and attention to detail that help our clients move forward with peace of mind.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most new business owners, the road hasn’t been completely smooth, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. Taking over an established business came with a learning curve — from managing operations and marketing to balancing our work and family life. My husband had years of inspection experience, but stepping into ownership meant learning the business side of things quickly.
At the same time, I transitioned from being a full-time homeschool mom to helping run a company, which was a big change for our family. There were long days, new systems to learn, and plenty of trial and error. But through it all, we’ve stayed focused on our shared goal: building a trusted, family-owned business that serves our community with honesty and care.
