Meet Cathy Miller of Clinch River Brewing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cathy Miller.

Hi Cathy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Clinch River Brewing opened in 2017 and my husband Bill and I were customers from the beginning. We have always been lovers of craft breweries and have visited many across the country. We wanted to start our own business but in December 2022 the opportunity arose to purchase Clinch River Brewing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been pretty smooth. We started out with some great partners and then moved to sole ownership in January of 2025.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Clinch River Brewing?
Clinch River Brewing is a craft brewery in Norris, TN. One of the things that makes us unique is our location; we’re just one mile from the base of Norris Dam and our building was once home to the TVA Fisheries and Forestry research laboratory. From the modern architecture to the trout pond the building has tons of character and is a one of a kind location nestled between TVA, Norris Watershed and Norris Dam State Park land. Our brewery is the perfect place to visit for locally crafted beer and food after a day out hiking, biking, fishing or boating. We have the Clinch River right across the street and Norris Lake just up the road.
We have 6 flagship beers and offer a wide variety of rotating craft beer styles to provide something for everyone! Our kitchen is known for some amazing Shrimp & Grits, Trout Dip and Kimchi Wings. We have weekly Thursday trivia and live music Friday and Saturday nights. We’re very dog friendly and love seeing all the fur babies on the patio!

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can support us most by stopping by for an amazing locally crafted beer. Our Head Brewer, Alexandria Shirey, is one of the best brewers in the area!
