Meet Cassie Simpher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Simpher.

Hi Cassie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Little Arrow Outdoor Resort started as a dream and came together with such perfection and love. We are a family-owned and operated business. Kevin and Chelly Clayton, and Brad & Carmen Simpher purchased what was formerly Tremont Campground in 2018 and turned Little Arrow into what it is today; a luxury outdoor resort with RV Sites, Tiny Homes (from Clayton Homes), Glamping Tents, Airstreams, Cabins, and Vacation Homes. Winning Best Glamping Resort by USA Today in 2020, we have not stopped improving and making Little Arrow the best getaway in the Smokies that it can be!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The saying is, “the joy is in the journey” and that’s true for the road that we’ve been on with Little Arrow. Running into challenges makes us even more passionate about this business and the people that come to Little Arrow to make lifelong memories.

We have been improving Little Arrow since 2018 and it’s not been easy, but every step of the way is worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My name is Cassie Simpher and I’m the Director of Operations and Marketing at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort. I moved to Blount County from Chicago in 2019. I went to the University of Missouri and after graduating in 2014, I hit the ground running learning and growing in every aspect of marketing and business operations from family-owned businesses to a large corporate agency.

I love being able to come to work at Little Arrow and not feeling like work, having fun with my co-workers and guests, and working hard to achieve our overall goal at Little Arrow. I think what sets me apart from others is that I genuinely love showing hospitality to all people, I’m extremely driven, dedicated, and super creative!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Where do I begin? I think the crisis is still ongoing and one that we will see for a long time. We are still seeing the effects of shipping and supply chain issues in different aspects of our business from retail to necessities we provide throughout our resort.

I believe that our team learned a lot from 2020, we were taught patience, grace, and how to develop a strong backbone. We also got to see how much people truly rely on and love the outdoors. It’s important to come back to reality, be present with loved ones, and be with nature, and this COVID-19 crisis has definitely given us a front-row seat to this.
