Today we’d like to introduce you to Andres Tapia.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I wanted to bring Latin music to Knoxville so people could dance and enjoy our culture, so I went to Preservation Pub and asked to speak with the manager. We discussed if I could do an event there. I explained to him that I wanted to bring Latin music there, and he liked the idea, and everything started there.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The bar is in a great location, but nobody knew about it then, so I had to build myself as a brand to promote the place and let people know what I was doing.

I’m a local DJ in Knoxville, TN! Music has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and I’m very proud of what I do because I bring joy to people who attend my events. I always ensure everyone is having a great time in a safe place.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I always enjoy music! So I grew up listening to all kinds of music and reading the great stories of many musicians! It is so funny when I look back, and I remember when I started as a DJ, I always got in trouble with my mom because the music was very loud.
