Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Leiser.
Hi Jacob, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When I was 18, my plan was to become a realtor. I studied hard, passed the national exam… and then failed the state test on my first try. That moment shook me more than I expected. The pressure, the risk, the feeling that I wasn’t fully ready it all hit at once. So instead of pushing forward, I stepped back and followed another one of my passions: cars.
For the next three years, I worked as a Ford mechanic. I loved modifying cars and working with my hands, but the long hours, low pay, and lack of real advancement wore on me. I knew deep down that the life I wanted for myself and for my son wasn’t going to come from turning wrenches in a dealership. I needed something I could build. Something I could grow. Something that gave me room to rise.
So I quit.
For two straight weeks, I sat down and really evaluated what I loved, what I was good at, and what could become a business. Photography and videography had always been in my life. I had spent years shooting cars for fun, and back in high school, one of my nature photos even won an art show. The passion had always been there I had just never viewed it as a real career.
Then it clicked.
I took everything from my past, everything I enjoyed, everything I had learned about real estate and visual storytelling… and put it into one idea: Leiser Media LLC.
I launched the business with nothing but a camera, a vision, and a determination to create a better future for me and my son. Almost a year later, I’m fully self-employed, Running a growing real estate media company, and more passionate than ever about capturing the spaces where people build their lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. My first two months in business, I was literally living off credit cards. I was stressed, unsure, and even considering selling one of my cars the thing I worked very hard for just to stay afloat while chasing what felt like a crazy dream.
But then things started to shift.
With a few early connections and the relationships I had slowly built, the work began trickling in. I went from only two shoots in my first month to now consistently handling 30–50 shoots every month. The growth has been fast, intense, and honestly surreal.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but every struggle has been worth it. The challenges shaped me, forced me to grow, and made Leiser Media LLC what it is today.

I am most proud of the fact that I have no professional experience prior to doing this, and I am fully self taught, and my leap of faith changed my life for the better.
What sets me apart is all my editing is in house, NOT outsourced. I am fully self taught and constantly growing and getting better at what I do.
What matters most to you? Why?
My son is the reason behind everything I do. He’s the anchor that keeps me grounded and the spark that pushes me forward, even on the days I’m exhausted or questioning myself. Every decision I make from starting Leiser Media LLC to taking risks most people would avoid comes back to him.
He gave my life a new level of purpose. Before he was born, I worked hard, but after becoming a father, I started working with intention. I want to build something he can be proud of… something that gives him stability, opportunity, and an example of what it means to chase your dreams without giving up.
When I’m out on a shoot, editing late at night, or learning new skills to grow my business, it’s not just for me it’s for him. He’s my motivation to be better, my reminder of what really matters, and the greatest blessing I’ve ever been given.
At the end of the day, success isn’t measured in money, clients, or gear. It’s measured in being the best father I can be. And that’s why my son will always matter the most.
