Inspiring Conversations with Ronda Disch of Disch Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronda Disch.

Hi Ronda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
If you’d told twenty-year-old me that I’d end up running a consulting company, I probably would’ve laughed and asked what kind of cocktail you were drinking. But looking back, every odd turn in my career pointed me right here.
I started in construction project management. After a decade of doing that work, I went to grad school to become a therapist. I started working in the behavioral health world, working with some of the most complex and misunderstood populations; people who had caused harm but were also carrying an incredible amount trauma themselves. That work shaped my entire philosophy on leadership: people do better when systems make sense, expectations are clear, and they feel seen as humans first. Over time, I found myself less drawn to direct clinical work and more obsessed with fixing the systems that made it hard for good people to do good work.
That’s what pulled me into executive leadership and organizational turnaround work. I’ve spent the last few years stepping into struggling organizations, nonprofits, clinics, animal welfare groups, and helping them untangle the chaos. Somewhere along the way, I realized that what I loved most was helping leaders rediscover purpose and rebuild trust within their teams. That’s how Disch Consulting was born: it’s where all the parts of me; therapist, executive director, animal lover, and systems nerd, finally get to live in the same room.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It would be laughable for me to say the road’s been smooth. Honestly, when I do speaking engagements, one of the first things I talk about is how rough those first few years of leadership really were. I spent a lot of time wondering if I was even cut out for it, or if I should just move to Italy, buy a little villa, and drink wine for the rest of my life instead.

There were definitely moments when people questioned what I was doing and why. Leadership can be incredibly isolating, especially when people only see the decisions you make, not the choices you had. I learned the hard way what “it’s lonely at the top” really means.

But those hard seasons are what changed everything for me. They pushed me to dig deep into what kind of leader I actually wanted to be, someone more connected, more human, and more intentional. That’s when I started studying leadership and organizational culture like my life depended on it. and that work helped me see that leadership isn’t about control; it’s about clarity, courage, and connection.

So no, it wasn’t smooth. But the bumps in the road are where I learned to drive.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Disch Consulting?
I started Disch Consulting because, honestly, I needed a me years ago. When I was new to executive leadership, I was facing resistance, tough decisions, and constant self-doubt. As a therapist, my instinct was to go to therapy, because that’s what I knew. But what I really needed was someone who understood the messy middle of leadership, how to manage people, culture, and conflict while still staying aligned with purpose. I didn’t know that kind of consultant even existed. So, I built the thing I wished I’d had.
At Disch Consulting, I work with organizations and leaders who are stuck, teams that have lost clarity, connection, or trust. My approach combines clinical insight with practical leadership strategy. I’m not the kind of consultant who drops in, delivers a PowerPoint, and disappears. I roll up my sleeves, get in the trenches, and help people see what’s actually getting in their way, both structurally and emotionally.
I specialize in organizational clean-up, team culture, and leadership development, especially for nonprofits and mission-driven businesses. What sets me apart is that I don’t separate the “people” side from the “business” side, they’re the same system. You can’t fix one without understanding the other.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Disch Consulting feels human. It’s approachable, a little sarcastic, deeply honest, and rooted in the belief that leadership doesn’t have to feel lonely or corporate.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The easiest way is just to reach out, email me or connect through our website. I love having real conversations about what’s going on in an organization and where I can help. Whether someone needs a one-time strategy session, a full leadership retreat, or just wants to brainstorm ideas, I’m always happy to talk.

Collaboration is a huge part of what I do, and I’m especially interested in partnering with other leaders, consultants, and organizations that are focused on building healthier workplaces and stronger communities.

You can find more information or get in touch through DischConsulting.com or by email. Either way, it starts with a conversation.
