Today we’d like to introduce you to Reed Bacon
Hi Reed, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After 10 years in the corporate world, Reed knew it was time to make a change and follow his dream of owning his own business, with the goal of helping others and making a positive impact in his community. Reed and his wife, Megan, have always had a heart for helping and serving others. They knew they could connect with people by helping them declutter their lives and reshape their spaces.
Reed was born and raised in Knoxville, growing up in Holston Hills while attending Sacred Heart Cathedral School. He later graduated from Catholic High School and went on to play football for the University of Memphis. After realizing he wasn’t going pro (haha), he returned home to graduate from the University of Tennessee and be a Big Orange Alum. He has spent the past decade working, learning, and growing in the Staffing and Human Resource industries. After much thought, prayer, and careful consideration, Reed knew that the junk removal industry was his calling. He bought a truck, and a dump trailer… got some business cards and a hoodie, and the rest is history as they say. He now lives with his wife Megan in the heart of Knoxville, in the Bearden / Westwood communities, and loves every minute of it. If he isn’t working you can find him with his family, and friends, supporting his Vols, Titans, Grizzles, and The Fighting Irish of Knoxville Catholic! He is a proud Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral Church.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Just like everything when you start, you are constantly learning, growing, and adapting. Unfortunately, you can talk to as many people as possible but somethings you just have to do yourself, mess up, and learn from them. It hasn’t necessarily been a smooth road but hasn’t been extremely bumpy either…. just what I would call normal ups & downs of starting a business. The number one struggling is getting your name out there.
We’ve been impressed with Bacon Junk Removal, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a locally owned and operated Junk Removal business. We can help with single item removals, all the way to complete clean outs. We offer light demolition and hauling services as well. I would say what we specialize in / what we are known for now…and continue to strive to be known for is our customer service & genuine care for others. I chose my last name to be the name of the business because of the pride and love I have in my name and family,.. And that is the same pride and care I show to each and every client we serve. No other junk removal or service company will have better customer service or care than the Bacon Junk Team.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
To be honesty and genuine to our clients… to treat them with the respect we want to be treated with, and to make sure each and every client is happy with the work we have done for them.
