Inspiring Conversations with Piere Herrmann of Piere’s Marketplace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Piere Herrmann.

Piere Herrmann

Hi Piere, can you introduce yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I have been in the grocery industry for a little over 20 years. My wife Jules and I have lived in multiple cities across the US, from Phoenix, AZ, to Richmond, VA. When we lived in Richmond, we fell in love with the Local curated grocery store concept. With a strong background in the grocery industry, we took a leap of faith and opened Piere’s Marketplace in October 2023. We have a true passion for helping improve the health and wellness of Johnson City and surrounding cities through high-quality foods.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far, it has been as smooth as opening any new business. Finding the right curated items customers seek has been challenging but intriguing to gauge what Downtown Johnson City wants. Sourcing various products, farmers, growers, and artisans can sometimes be difficult as we hold to quality.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Piere’s Marketplace is a curated local natural & organic grocery store located in downtown Johnson City, TN. This has been our dream for many years, and we are so glad we can share it with our community. We serve our customers by offering the best products conveniently. We emphasize local, highlight organic, and are uncompromising on quality. We aim to support local farmers, makers, and artisans to give small businesses a place to sell their unique products beyond a farmers’ market or direct-to-consumer sales. Our purpose is to make sure families are allowed access to clean and sustainable groceries that fit their lifestyle while also being able to support locals. We hope to see you become a part of our marketplace family!
