Inspiring Conversations with Peggy Pratt of Radiant Nutrition

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peggy Pratt.

Hi Peggy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a registered dietitian for over 30 years and practiced in many areas in dietetics. After moving to Knoxville 15 years ago I finished up my PhD from Texas Woman’s University and began looking for my next stepping stone in the nutrition field. About 6 months of living in Knoxville I decided to join the Knoxville Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (KAND) and attended an event they sponsored which involved learning more about eating disorders. While I was there I heard about a part-time job for an RD at a local eating disorder intensive out-patient program. I interviewed, was hired, and began the process of learning how to treat eating disorders from a nutrition perspective. This experience eventually led me to start my own private practice specializing in eating disorders, disordered eating and body image issues. I’ve been in private practice for over 8 years now and have added several registered dietitians over the years to join me in serving Knoxville and the surrounding areas in regards to nutrition for mental health, wellness, chronic disease, and sport.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth but I’ve learned something new every time things haven’t met my expectations. With growth comes change and more to manage but I absolutely love every dietitian who works for me. The are all uniquely designed to meet the needs of our clients and I couldn’t be more thankful for their insight and support.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Radiant Nutrition?
My website has a lot of this information on it if you want to look there. If not, I can elaborate more!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
listening and consistency- we listen to what our clients need and desire for their health and we consistently show up for them.. After listening and holding space for them to share their lives and medical history we formulate a plan to help them achieve their goals and values of health and recovery.
