Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlin Hurst.
Hi Kaitlin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started when I was a single mom working dead end job after dead end job without any idea what my future was supposed to look like. One year I absolutely fell in love with makeup and ran with it. I started makeup influencing and did that for a few years for fun before I realized that beauty school may actually be something I could do. From there I learned to do lashes and my vision for my future in beauty grew. I had worked and met so many people in the beauty industry with very different vibes and styles than mine that just never felt right to me. I knew that my differences and my individuality could create something totally different that hasn’t been seen before. Thus, I created HEX.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It can be challenging to navigate this industry because of the complexities around pay structures, taxes, and other business-related aspects. It’s crucial to not only master your craft but also gain a deep understanding of the business side to protect yourself and succeed.
