In 2005, Chris Roberts went to New Zealand, and saw the viral sensation of zorbing come to life! He knew he had to bring this activity to the USA! He sold his house to build Outdoor Gravity Park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!
He build this park from the ground up, including the only functional lift of its kind! From there, his small family-owned business had been featured on Good Morning America, The Travel Channel, Park’d America’s Got Talent, Late Night with David Letterman, and Nickelodeon at Night!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Developing zorbing in the USA, which has never been done before, has been one of the largest challenges the park has endured. Showing insurance a new activity is never easy, but an activity that is not widely known has its own challenges.
Getting certified through the state was just as hard! Identifying a location where mountains are large enough, and being able to give a wide variety of people an experience of a lifetime landed this park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!

Outdoor Gravity Park is the only zorbing park in the USA! We are a small family-owned business that loves to give our guests an experience of a lifetime! And our park does just that! With viral Tik Toks and social media posts from guests, our park has become a “Must Do” for many visiting Pigeon Forge!
We’re most proud of our charity event called Running of the Balls! Similar to Running of the Bulls, guests can run away from an 11-foot orb chasing them down a 1000 foot track! This event is held every May and September to raise donations for Sevier County Food Ministries! Our local community has come together to donate tickets, for participants, to other attractions in the area or some events participated in the event themselves!
Our most viral social media to this date was a video of May 2021 Running of the Balls! It was viewed over 11 million times on Tik Tok!

Creating an unforgettable guest experience is so important to our park. We want every guest to experience the indescribable sensation of zorbing while getting the warm welcome of southern hospitality from our staff!
From check-in to getting into an orb, to relive the experience from the videos guests takes home, we want to ensure they’re smiling from cheek to cheek. We know we achieve this when our guests leave glowing reviews or we meet others that tell us “my friend told me I HAVE to come here, and I’m so glad we did!”
