Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
So briefly, I’ll tell you a little about myself. I’m 25 years old, I own Party Bounce House Rentals of Knoxville, I’ve lived in Knoxville for five years and I’ve been married to my beautiful wife for 2 years. I try to put God first with everything I do. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without God’s guidance and his word. He will teach you to be fearless so you can take on anything, prideless so when you achieve big goals you stay humble, how important serving others and being generous is and so many other things.
As a young business owner, it’s hard and it may seem like the odds are not in your favor but you can’t give up. When one door closes, open up a better one. Before opening up Party Bounce House Rentals of Knoxville, I was a realtor, and I was in the army which was tough, so I was able to take the discipline and other skills I learned and use them while running this business. Right now I eat, breathe and sleep this business. We have four part-time employees that handle most orders allowing me to focus more on understanding and meeting our customer’s needs and everything else that goes with running a company.
I couldn’t pull any of this off without our team. A great team is everything and our employees are the best. They care about making our customer’s parties awesome just as much as I do and we have done over 500 parties this year and we haven’t ruined a single party. That’s always a huge concern of mine. We would feel horrible if we ruined anyone’s big day so we have multiple systems in place so the odds of us ruining a party is practically none existing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The way I run things, things only get smoother. After every shift, I sit down with our employees and go over how things can be improved and how I can make their shifts easier. When you throwing around 500lb water slides.
You have to always find better ways of doing things or you will burn yourself out real quick. I will say this, I did make things a lot harder on myself my first year in business. We were so small my first year and my dreams for the company are so big that I did 90% of the work myself to save on labor so I could re-invest more back into the business. Those times were rough. Then hiring great people was a huge challenge! That was hands down my biggest challenge.
Which I didn’t think would be a hard challenge at all. When starting this business I assumed finding good employees would be easy. Even though you are setting up 500lb+ inflatables, the work is fun and there’s a lot of perks. It took me months and I went through 13 different people. Before getting four good guys.

In the midst of the craziest year, I’ve experienced. I made a decision after collecting my 7th unemployment check, that I would start my own business. So, I spent literally months doing research on the perfect business to start up and Party bounce house rentals of Knoxville was created in August 2020.
I chose to start up party bounce house rentals in Knoxville because I love parties. The memories you make and great parties and events are something you can cherish for a lifetime. So the idea of bringing families closer together with good times was right up my alley. We are known for going above and beyond for our customers, giving back to the community, our one of kind inflatables and unique water slides, surprising our customer’s free upgrades on their rentals, our foam parties, and over the top birthday yard card displays, our giveaways, church, and school discounts, I’m not really sure what else we are known for but we would like to be known for being the people you can count on to bring your family a great time.
You will always get the best inflatables that are clean and safe with us. I believe our passion to serve you guys is what will set us apart. We have a ton of stuff planned that will bring a lot of excitement into our community’s lives.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think taking risks has been a huge advantage in my life. When I was younger, in my mind, I thought that I don’t have much to lose so I can risk it all if the situation made enough sense. I don’t think everyone should take a lot of risks though.
You need to have good risk management skills if you plan on taking risks and not everyone has the good judgment to evaluate situations. In the past, most of my decisions have been high risk, high reward. Which made me fail a lot but I have also won a lot.
Right now, I’m working on limited my risks and protecting everything I have created so far. I do plan to still take calculated risks though.
