Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Pfisterer.
Hi Andrea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
MaDella Organics was born out of a labor of love and is named after our two daughters, Macie and Della, since they were the inspiration for its creation and me to find my purpose for this lifetime. While the struggle to get here wasn’t easy and a journey I wouldn’t wish on anyone, I am so grateful for the trials that led us here. When my youngest, Della, was around two years old, we dealt with some difficult health issues and were eventually told she may never speak to us and would be on medication for the rest of her life. We were given a list of medications and sent home. We never filled those prescriptions. At that moment, I knew there had to be something else. There had to be a better way. I began researching and diving into the rabbit hole that is Holistic Medicine and found ways to help her. Along the way, I began sharing with friends and family dealing with similar issues and other issues and found that my passion was helping others take back control of their health – naturally. While Western Medicine is great and necessary, the Earth has always been here, providing what we need to support our health, but that was forgotten, and information was suppressed over time.
Watching our daughter’s health improve was a blessing, and I wanted to offer that to everyone I could. Over the years, I continued to research and talk with others on a similar path to find true healing and decided this is why I am here, so I started the business. I finally obtained my Clinical Herbalist certification in November 2019 to offer my clients peace of mind knowing I understood the science behind herbal Medicine. And I could trust myself to create safe and effective products for the whole family (even our 4-legged members). We began in Colorado in 2013, and I was able to grow the business here in Tennessee when we moved to Knoxville in 2021. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with so many people all over the country and be a small part of helping them support, maintain and regain their health naturally. These past two years in Tennessee have been a blessing, and I landed right where I needed to be.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! No! But so worth it! As I said earlier, finding true healing for your child and feeling so lost and alone in the beginning is not something I would wish on anyone, but I am so grateful for that experience now. It helped me gain compassion and empathy for others and their struggles. Also, at the very beginning of starting the business, we were on our ‘Colorado Front Range Tour’ – meaning we didn’t stay in one place for more than two years – We bounced from Littleton to Boulder County to Parker, then down to Colorado Springs. We didn’t know where to settle, so we took the time while the kids were young to explore. While we loved every minute of the journey all over Colorado, it was challenging to start over – business-wise – each time. Keeping your current client base from where you were while building a new base in your new area takes a lot of work. While that was hard, it also led me to people I needed to grow as a person and in the business and those people who needed me to help them on their own path. The same has been true for our move to Knoxville. I have been blessed over these past two years to meet so many wonderful people that needed me as much as I needed them. Growing MaDella into a nationwide company has been a humbling and soul-filling experience that makes all the obstacles worth the struggles. It has been a reminder that we can do hard things – even the things we think you aren’t strong enough to handle. You are!
We’ve been impressed with MaDella Organics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We know that proper health cannot be seen as a one-size-fits-all approach and must look at you and find what works best for you. We create organic herbal products – everything from Elderberry Syrup, tinctures of all kinds, Herbal teas and baths, Essential Oil Roller Bottles for headaches, ADHD/Sensory Issues, and sore muscles, and Salves to assist in combating eczema/psoriasis, bug bites/stings, etc. and so much more. We also offer Herbalist Consultations that allow us to work with you individually, finding ways to help you personally. We look at your health goals, spiritual health, exercise routine, diet, etc. While we will suggest herbal remedies, we will also recommend chiropractic treatment, acupuncture, and nutrition support – anything we feel will benefit your overall health and success in reaching your goals.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
How much time do you have?? There are so many people I owe so much gratitude. First of all, my sweet, supportive husband, Chris. You were the first one that encouraged me to follow my passion. You saw the benefits Della was having from the remedies and the fire in my heart for learning more and more and eventually taking the leap to make this my ‘job.’ I can never thank you enough for all the times you lifted me when I wasn’t sure of myself or my abilities. You have always been and continue to be my rock in all the good times and the not-so-good times throughout life and where MaDella is concerned. To my girls, Macie and Della, for choosing us as your parents and just being your beautiful selves. Giving me the courage to fight for you and reminding me of my why every day. Macie, you have been with me at almost every market all over the country. Aside from the help you offer in setting up / breaking down, I am so blessed to be able to watch you grow comfortable in your skin, conversing with customers, and sharing those long days in the rain, the cold the heat are memories I will cherish for a lifetime. To every client that has entrusted me with their health journey, Thank You! Thank you for sharing MaDella with your friends and family and helping us grow this dream. Without you, none of this would be possible. To every single person that offered encouragement along the way, thank you! Owning your own business isn’t always the easiest thing in the world, and there are days when you can’t go on. Your uplifting words or acts of kindness go so far and play over in my mind, constantly reminding me to keep going.
