Hi Saad, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Our journey started when we bought Merchants Wine & Spirits. After 5 years of growing the business, we expanded across the street where we build our own building for the liquor store and another unit. 6 years went by and we couldn’t find a tenant willing to be in the back of a liquor store, so we took matters into our own hands. We saw the world shift to CBD and hemp/cannabis/marijuana.
Analysts, such as Sonny Randhawa, have predicted cannabis companies would see a rise in revenues as consumers turn to marijuana as a lower-priced alternative to alcohol in a recession. That’s when we started our 50 hours of research to truly understand this industry.
After hours of research, the narrative turned from, “this gets you high,” to “when used responsibly, this can really help people with various diseases, illnesses, or just your everyday aches and pains.” Just from person-to-person experience, there are a lot of benefits to this product, but we can still have fun with it too.
It all started with our love for the alcohol industry, now it’s transitioned into the hemp/cannabis industry. It wasn’t about the product as much as it was about the people you meet while sharing and educating.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Thankfully, with experience in our Liquor and Wine business, the startup road was smoother than normal. Now the real work starts.
I anticipate struggling at the beginning with gaining clientele, but we are confident that we will be able to pass along the message because of how passionate we are about the industry. The industry is so young, and we are excited and ready to learn and grow with it.
We’ve been impressed with Merchants Vapor, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Merchants Vapor specializes in CBD and Legal Hemp-Derived THC. We are planning to rebrand as a dispensary once the world gets more accustomed to the hemp/cannabis industry.
We are passionate about what we offer. We have a large selection of different gummies, flowers, carts, and disposables with different concentrations of cannabinoids. We also offer a wide selection of glass, cigars, and traditional nicotine vapes, juices, and devices.
For this industry, education is a key factor. Our staff is very knowledgeable on everything hemp/cannabis. We also stay up to date on trends, policies, and laws that come down the pipeline. It is a very volatile industry, but we believe in the long run, it will be 50-50 with alcohol.
