Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Lyles.
Hi Lauren, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for natural medicine. I remember as a kid my parents had this giant book of natural remedies and I’d love reading it. I learned about Acupuncute after a friend’s dad had been in a bad farming accident and acupuncture really helped him. I ended up going to San Diego to go to school at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine to get my Masters degree and eventually go on to get my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I’ve loved working with my patients to help them improve their lives and health.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part of my journey has been learning how to run a business. I really just wanted to practice natural medicine but being an entrepreneur and taking care of the ins and outs of a practice has to go along with it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
East Tennessee acupuncture and herbal medicine is a place where people come to find relief from a variety of problems including pain, hormone imbalance, autoimmune diseases, anxiety, headaches/migraines and much more. I’m most proud of how much we care about our patients and spend the time and energy to really understand their condition and find the best way to treat them.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’ve always been curious and caring, which I’ve carried into my adulthood and I believe makes me a good practitioner. I have always loved connecting with others and value deep connection. I’m still close with my childhood best friends. I was a bit of a tomboy as I grew up with 2 older brothers.
