Daily Inspiration: Meet Jana Harmon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jana Harmon.

Hi Jana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! My name is Jana, and I’m the owner of Rose and Ring Events. I started my wedding coordinating career in 2015 as an event assistant at the Lodge at Brothers Cove in Sevierville, TN. I quickly fell in love with everything about weddings and knew that I wanted to go into this field full-time.

As a culinary arts major and musician, I’ve always been passionate about creating beautiful moments for people to enjoy. Being a wedding coordinator allows me to incorporate all those skills that I’ve learned over time and offers exciting opportunities that strengthen my creativity every day.

After several years of assistant planning, I was able to launch my own event planning company at the beginning of 2022 – Rose & Ring. I’ve been blessed with great mentors, clients, and vendor friends who have all cheered me on in this new chapter of my journey! And I can’t wait to see what beautiful things the future holds for me and my team.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Each wedding or event presents new challenges! For example… Since I primarily coordinate weddings in the Great Smoky Mountains, there will be times when I literally have to chase off raccoons or bears from the property.

I’ve also learned to be better at troubleshooting any issues that may arise during a ceremony or reception.

Whether a bride forgets her bouquet right before the ceremony or there’s a sudden change in the bridal party lineup, wedding planners must always be quick on their feet!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in full-service wedding planning, particularly for clients who are coming to East TN for a destination wedding.

I want to make the wedding planning process as seamless as possible for my couples! So once a client books my services, I will send them a detailed questionnaire to get things started. Then, I will ask them to send me inspiration photos that they love so I can better visualize their desired color scheme and aesthetic.

I also have an amazing group of preferred vendors that I’ve worked with for years, and I help my clients select which ones are best for their budget and needs.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I am a very driven person. Once I get an idea or goal in my head, I usually start working on it immediately until I feel that enough has been accomplished for the moment. Even if it’s 2:00 in the morning.
