Today we’d like to introduce you to Halee Sprinkle.
Halee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I worked just over a decade in Corporate America. I started in Sales, then worked in Property Management, and finally landed in Marketing where my education and interests reside. I learned so much about myself and what I wanted out of my career during those 11 years.
I also learned what I did not want for myself and my career! In 2016, I made a big move from a company I had worked with for over 8 years. That was hard but rewarding all at once. It didn’t take me long in this new role to see I still wasn’t where I wanted to be nor was I fully utilizing the skills I had to offer the community.
This was the moment I started to let the “entrepreneurial” dreams creep in. Now, if you have never experienced this moment let me tell you, once that door is open it can never be closed. One thought led to another that led to conversations with my husband and my older sister who is also an entrepreneur.
I had an idea, support, and the will to get through the sacrifices. It was time. I made my exit from Corporate in October of 2017 and it has been the most amazing adventure since that big leap!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Entrepreneur and smooth road? Ha! No. I have never heard those words in the same sentence thus far in my journey. In 2018, February 1st to be exact, I launched my marketing consultation business, my husband & I closed on our commercial property investment, and my son had the flu to boot.
Struggles are part of the journey and make you more aware, more prepared, and more prone to asking for help! All great lessons. There have been many other hard days and seasons since that very memorable day. 2020 started out great for my business, then I lost all my business and was home full time with my son trying to keep my spirits up.
At the end of 2020 I essentially started my business over. My new clients needed me in new ways and I decided to rebuild my offerings and processes. Again, stronger in the end but it was not an easy journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My main service is Content Strategy and Content Creation. More specifically, Social Media Content. I am most proud of the work I do for the Women in Entrepreneurship communities in Knoxville and Blount County. I not only get to help motivate and encourage these women but I get to coordinate and promote programming for them and their businesses to grow and thrive.
I believe my past experiences, adventurous soul, and colorful, creative thinking are what set me apart from other Marketing professionals. All of these also aid my ability to work with such varying industries and individuals. I love being able to learn from my clients as much as they learn from me!
How do you think about luck?
My maiden name is McLaughlin and I am a Scott-Irish descendant. I love the idea of the “Luck of the Irish” and carrying around that 4 leaf clover and the rabbit foot, however, I am a firm believer in hard work. My hard work, sacrifices, and determination are what have aided in my success to date.
I have taken those big leaps not being able to see the other side and said yes to those risky business choices that terrify me to the core in the beginning. I have landed on both feet so far but there were a lot of struggles, hard seasons, and intense moments through each venture.
I think the saying goes, “Nothing worth having comes easy.”
