Conversations with Xtra Credits

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xtra Credits.

Xtra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been a musical artist for 20+ years, rapping, singing, and producing. I went to school for a digital audio engineering an aspiring artist that owns a record label called, Free Game International. I put out three artists so far including myself, I’m working on my second album called, fruition.

I’m also working with a few talented individuals in the city of Sacramento be on the lookout for my new single coming out with Ras Kass legendary hip-hop West Coast legend. Songs titled, Jaded featuring Patrick Antonian.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road but I wouldn’t change it for the world just pitfalls in the industry getting on labels and getting with teams that don’t have your best interest at heart.

Setbacks hard drives crashing laptops being stolen all the music deleted and still I push through persevered and made newer songs got with better teams and better individuals that support me more instead of just themselves.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an MC first, a producer second how people accept me I’m not sure. You can check out my latest album called Get@Me by Xtra Credits I also put out an R&B artist by the name of Robin Reyes that I produced.

I specialize in making dope music. From writing all the way to creating the rhythms, I’m most proud of the most recent work that I’ve put out starting to catch a buzz it’s on the radio in Knoxville, Tennessee.

I’m starting to catch my stride as of right now, what I can say myself apart from others is that I’m a chameleon, I can adapt to any style and you can’t do anything without the adapter.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was born in Sacramento, California raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania I was a shy kid very short intimidated, and not confident about myself it took me to start doing music to learn that I can come out of my shell, before then, I was a shy rapper.

I was always into music, I was watching the jukebox or the box as they call it and I will watch all the videos from all the ’80s and ’90s artists that will come out during that time and this is wet push me to do music for my interest as always my music being a part of music media or movies.
