Today we’d like to introduce you to Nora Davis.
Hi Nora, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up outside of Richmond, VA, and went to college at Emory & Henry College. I graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communications in 2016. In 2017, I started working for the Kingsport Chamber as their Communications & Events Coordinator. I worked there for four years and then switched to work for the Town of Jonesborough. I currently am the Marketing & Promotions Coordinator. I enjoy communications and marketing; I live in Kingsport with my cat, Floof! My hobbies include embroidery and reading. I also like gardening, especially beer gardens.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It took some time in college to figure out my career path. I decided to pursue journalism for a while, but I did two marketing internships and found I enjoyed that field very much.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I manage multiple social media accounts for the Town of Jonesborough. I also write and send out press releases along with scheduling media spots. Occasionally I will do media interviews. I’m very proud that I can do the media interviews. I used to be more reserved and dreaded public speaking. I’m proud that I can now confidently do live interviews.
What are your plans for the future?
I currently do not have anything big planned! Just see where things go!
