Conversations with Dylan Bryant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dylan Bryant.

Hi Dylan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up as a child I found myself constantly being in situations that were troubling. Throughout my teenage years i sold drugs and robbed. With that being said at the age of 17 going on 18 , I found myself going to the penitentiary with a 17 year sentence in which I had to do 14.5 years day for day. Throughout the course of that time I learned to better myself through reading, poetry, working out, and playing chess. I later found myself wanting to not only change but help young adults change their lives as well.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No it hasn’t been smooth at all. From doing such a long time incarceration I struggled with not being institutionalized, and recreating myself all over again. I had to learn how to adapt to the world and the people that walk within it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work with High Risk Youth with violence interruption. I strive to stop any occurring violence and also assist Young adults with mental health. I’m known for bringing a sense of peace to the community. I’m proud of all of my accomplishments in stopping violence and violent situations from day to day. My personality and how vocal I am sets me apart from the rest.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
You have to know and understand YOU before you can even begin to help anyone else. For every door that closes , and the attempts that you make to get through. It’s bound to be a door that will open and have all that you need inside.
