Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Fields
Hi Amber, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Those who have known me personally throughout my adolescent years to present will tell you that skincare has always been one of my top priorities. With that being said, I have been a Registered Nurse for over 10 years now and have experience in various nursing fields (ER, ICU, Med-Surg, Neurology, Geriatric). Regardless what area of nursing I have found myself in the past several years, my true desire was to find a position of nursing that directly involved skincare. I was able to finally bring my long awaited dream to life in 2022 thanks to Smiley Aesthetics and Dr. Pickens. By becoming an Aesthetic Nurse Injector, I have been able to provide clients with both treatment and education to help them achieve their own personal skin goals. I enjoy having the ability to empower others with feeling confident and in control of their skin again!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Lack of experience was the biggest obstacle that I had initially faced when I came into this industry in 2022. Because your social media presence is likely not well known yet when you are first starting out, it can be intimidating to build your client base. The one thing that I found to be what built trust and ensured the return of a client was transparency. I took each client’s concerns personally and helped to build their treatment plan based on what was best for their needs. I ensured that each client was provided honest insight to which treatments would or would not be beneficial specific to their concerns and set realistic post-treatment expectations. By continuing to be transparent, I have built trust with my clients, and I continue this approach with each new face that sits in the exam chair.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am most proud of my personal drive. Between being a mother and working full time hours, I still make time to invest in continuous education. I want to stay upto date on all the changes in the beauty and anti-aging industry so that I can ensure that I am providing both safe and precise treatments to my clients. Through continuous education, I have perfected my ability to select the best product and technique needed to achieve both beautiful and natural looking results.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Outside of nursing, my personal life consists of family time. Whether we spend a day in watching movies or out on the lake, there is never a moment that I do not cherish. I have a pre-adolescent daughter who keeps my schedule very busy and enjoys wearing my patience thin. Those who know me personally, know how important my daughter is to me! Through my years of nursing at the bedside to now aesthetic nursing, my only wish is that I have set an example for her to never stop persuing her dreams.
