Hello, I’m Pedro Da Silva. I was born in the beautiful country of Portugal and spent my formative years in Belgium, known for its amazing chocolates and waffles. However, my journey took a pivotal turn when I ventured to the United States to pursue higher education, a decision that not only broadened my horizons but also led me to cross paths with my amazing wife. I earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations, followed by an MBA in marketing. As an international student for most of my higher education, I faced restrictions on working outside campus, leading me to provide free consulting services to sharpen my skills and gain valuable work experience. This initial endeavor fueled my passion for community engagement and value creation, eventually inspiring the establishment of my marketing consulting business. Here, I channel my enthusiasm into assisting others and contributing to the betterment of the community.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been a rewarding yet challenging journey. One of the most significant hurdles I faced was the intricate task of balancing various life roles. Being not only a husband but also a father to two daughters required a delicate equilibrium, especially while pursuing my professional ambitions. Juggling these familial responsibilities alongside a full-time role as a Senior SEO Analyst at Tombras added another layer of complexity. The challenge intensified when I decided to make a career move, transitioning to Asurion as an SEO Manager, all while diligently completing my MBA and starting my own business. The intricate dance of managing familial responsibilities, a career, and academic pursuits required meticulous planning and resilience. However, each challenge has contributed to my growth, shaping me into a more resilient and balanced individual.

I absolutely love Knoxville for several reasons. First and foremost, the friendliness of the people here creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it easy to connect with others. The abundance of community involvement opportunities is another aspect that I deeply appreciate. It’s wonderful to be part of a place where residents actively engage in making a positive impact. Additionally, the geographical diversity is a standout feature, with the ability to enjoy both the tranquility of the countryside and the vibrancy of the big city within a short drive.
As for dislikes, there isn’t anything I specifically dislike about Knoxville. However, if I were to add a wish to enhance the experience, having a beach nearby would be a fantastic addition.
