Community Highlights: Meet Moniqueca (Nikki) Navarre of Nikki Nails Knox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moniqueca (Nikki) Navarre.

Hi Moniqueca (Nikki), so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started doing nails when I was in high school. I did an apprenticeship and decided to do them when I went to college. I remember my dad saying, “Hey, you’ve been in school a couple of months and haven’t asked me for any money.” My reply was, “I’m making money doing nails.” My dad suggested I get my nail certification to make real money. That’s exactly what I did. I took my college classes at Tennessee State University during the day and attended nail school in the evening. I finished nail school and earned my license. I worked doing nails throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies. I have been a nail salon manager, owned a mobile nail spa in Chicago, and won nail competitions. Twenty-two years later, I am still making people’s nails look beautiful. Even after a short “retirement” from nails, I can’t imagine life without nails.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been smooth for me. Because I did the apprenticeship in high school, I was more prepared than some of the newer people that come out of school these days.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am proud of my continuous education in nails and for providing luxury nail services to my clients. I specialize in a technique called the Russian Manicure. It takes extensive training and practice; I am known for my nail art. I like to do a lot of abstracts and come up with many of my designs off the top of my head. What sets me apart from others is my years of experience and professionalism. I want the readers to know that Nikki Nails Knox is a luxury nail-tique that offers high-quality, safe, luxurious hand and feet services.

What do you think about luck?
Luck hasn’t played a role. A lot of hard work went into getting to where I am today.

  • Russian Manicure $75
  • Safe Waterless Pedicure $55
