Community Highlights: Meet Krystal Goodman of Klean Nourish

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Goodman.

Hi Krystal, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always believed that how you fuel your body and how you move it are the keys to unlocking your best self. This all started with sports in middle school, high school and through college. Being an athlete taught me training and fueling were crucial for optimal health and wellness.

I started my journey over 16 years ago, becoming a personal trainer and working with clients one-on-one in private gyms and at the iconic Blackberry Farm. I quickly saw that training alone wasn’t enough nutrition mattered just as much. That’s what inspired me to deepen my education beyond my bachelors of science in Nutrition to also becoming a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and launching Klean Nourish, my online platform for personalized nutrition and accountability. This led me to so guide people with real plans, real food, and real accountability.

Since then, I’ve coached at Orangetheory Fitness and Hylo, created meal plans for clients all over the country, and built a community that doesn’t just chase results but prioritizes feeling strong, nourished, and empowered.

Whether it’s through running, training, or a well-balanced plate, my mission is simple: to help people show up for themselves, one choice at a time. This is more than a job to me, it’s a lifestyle. And I’m just getting started.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not always smooth, but the hard parts have shaped everything I do today.

I started as a personal trainer over 16 years ago because I loved helping people feel strong and confident in their bodies. But early on, I realized that fitness alone wasn’t the full picture and nutrition was the missing piece for so many of my clients. That inspired me to further use my nutrition degree and become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, and eventually launch Klean Nourish, my online nutrition platform.

Building something from the ground up while training clients, coaching classes, and showing up online wasn’t easy. There were a lot of long hours, imposter syndrome, and moments where I questioned if I could really do it all.

But every challenge taught me how to serve my community better and how to meet people where they are, how to build consistency into chaos, and how to lead by example. Now, I get to combine my love for movement, food, and personal growth in a way that feels truly aligned.

It’s been a journey but one I’m so proud of.

As you know, we’re big fans of Klean Nourish. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Klean Nourish, we believe that nutrition should be personalized, approachable, and empowering. I created this platform to help people fuel their bodies with purpose through real food, practical strategies, and the kind of accountability that creates lasting results.

As a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and personal trainer, I specialize in building custom nutrition plans that are based on individual needs, not trends or quick fixes. Whether you’re a runner, a busy professional, or someone who just wants to feel better in their body, I work with you to build a routine that actually works for your life.

What sets Klean Nourish apart is the one-on-one accountability. My clients aren’t just given a plan, they’re supported, coached, and educated every step of the way. With weekly check-ins, targeted meal planning, and flexible guidance, the focus is always on sustainable change, not restriction.

I’m most proud of the community and trust that has grown through this brand. People come to Klean Nourish because they’re ready for something deeper than a diet and they’re ready to take care of themselves in a way that lasts.

If there’s one thing I’d want readers to know, it’s this: Nutrition doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. It can be simple, satisfying, and completely tailored to you and I’m here to help you get there.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Absolutely! I’m a big believer in using tools and resources that help me stay grounded, optimize my routines, and continue learning.

Some of my go-to apps are Oval Care for mental wellness check-ins, Oura Ring and Garmin to track my sleep, recovery, and training performance, and Fooducate, which is great for staying mindful of ingredients and nutritional quality when grocery shopping or helping clients with food choices.

One book I’ve really loved lately is The Let Them Theory. It’s such a powerful mindset shift reminding you to stop over-explaining, stop overextending, and trust what’s meant for you. It’s helped me show up more fully for myself and my clients.

Podcast-wise, I’m a huge fan of How I Built This. As someone who’s built a brand from the ground up, I love hearing the behind-the-scenes stories of other founders. It reminds me that every successful journey is full of pivots, setbacks, and passion.

These resources help me not only stay on track in my own life, but show up stronger and more intentionally for the people I serve.
