Today we’d like to introduce you to Modified Automotive
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Back in September of 2024 we were attending a local car meet and had seen the amount of people that would come out and we figured we could be some change. We could create a safe space for families and raise money/awareness for causes and charities that we would support as well. So we decided to create a trunk or treat for the children of Knoxville on October 17, 2024, and with that we had about 30 cars come out to dress up, dress-up their cars and hand out candy to kids. With that being our first event we were very proud of all that participated and showed up. After that we decided to try it again in December with Toys for Tots. On December 14, 2024 we hosted a toys for tots drive and gathered so many toys that we needed more boxes thanks to the amount of people participating. Even after the date, we kept on receiving items so much so that we decided to donate all the clothes to the Ronald McDonald house to help all kids going through a hard time and the families involved. We can’t wait to continue doing these types of events of bringing car enthusiast together and giving everyone a good time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is not always smooth for anything especially anyone starting something they want. You’ll always have someone that will say something negative or try to bring our hopes down but we see past them and not let that affect what we have planned. If everyone listened to somebody hating on what we are accomplishing then nothing would get done.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As of right now, A-Rod is a correctional officer for knox county sheriff’s office. Zach is heavy equiment operater in the city of maryville. Annobelle is currently in cosmetology to become a hair stylist/hair dresser. Arod is wanting to start automobile detailing here in knoxville in the near future with the Modified Automotive name. We love the impact that we have on our community knowing we can be part of the change for families. The main thing that sets us apart is that we want to make sure everyone has a good time and everyone leaves with a smile knowing they are being part of the change.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
We would say one of the big risks we took was actually starting the group in general and having the same goal within our group. Wanting to set ourselves apart from what everyone else was doing and make an impact on people participating and in need as well.
