Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaelynne Pope.
Hi Chaelynne, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Back in 2021, I was hired for 3M in Clinton, TN. There were limited options for extended hotels stays with a dog especially a German Shepard. After 30+ days in a hotel, I was missing the creature comforts of a home especially one that included the coming home to the family furry member.
Fast forward to March 2023 is when I decided to convert my first Knoxville home into a fully furnished mid-term rental catering to those professionals with pets. It did not take long for my first tenant after advertising on Furnished Finder. After a little over one year of 100% occupancy, I felt I had a successful business model.
Then in November 2024, I purchased a second investment property and converted my primary home into a third rental. Now, I cater to those traveling professionals with pets, as well as to families who are displaced with pets that had an unforeseen event at their home. My goal is to provide a quality upscale home so that it feels like home! I hope to provide some peace of mind for those who are already in a stressful situation of transitioning to Knoxville or having repairs done to their existing home.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My vision for Chae’s Rentals is to provide upscale amenities that include granite, hardwood, LVP, spa showers, luxury kitchens, premium furnishings, etc….all the creature comforts that make a nice home where you would want to live and sleep. Getting to that vision is a challenge! Not only are there the capital investment and budgeting aspects for renovations but living in a construction zone for many weeks. My first home that was converted to a mid-term rental, took nearly 2 years of renovations before I even went to market. Living in a construction zone for that long certainly takes persistence and patience to get to the Vision one has.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I don’t think of myself as someone special as anyone who puts their mind to do something can certainly achieve it! As for background, I am a manufacturing engineer by degree and trade. However, I love all things real estate…. my idea of a good day is going to eat and then going to Lowes, Home Depot, or Floors and Decor!
Even after the age of 50, I am still deciding what I want to be when I grow up! I decided most recently to get my real estate license and help others with their investment pursuits! It is never too late to follow your passion.!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in the role of luck….there are those who believe in you and your vision that help you achieve what you want in life. Quite honestly, I could not have achieved everything in less than the 4 years I have been in business without my close family! They have not only listened to my relentless chatter; but have endured the countless hours of helping me stage, clean, uproot and move multiple times! Believing in oneself and having those close to you who believe in you is priceless!
