Carrena, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
How I got Started, lol
In 2020 after being a stylist for 27 years , I decided I needed a career change. I still wanted to help people but this time on a different journey! I wanted to help people buy homes that thought this was just a dream. And here I am 4+ years later doing what I love with the assistance of God!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The year i got started was the year of the pandemic…It was really a challenge getting contracts due to out of state buyers . Most of the average buyers could not compete with cash buyers…But God! I always say that if this is the house for you then it is yours even today that is my mantra!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The saying started from the bottom is my life in a nutshell. Being a cosmetologist allowed me to make women feel beautiful. It helped me to put my inner insecurities aside in order to bring out what other women did not necessarily see in themselves. I feel being a realtor helps me do the same thing. I don’t have a minimum sales price ..I just do what I have to do to help my clients whether it be styling their hair or buying a house or even selling a house for that matter!. I am very humble and appreciative in all things that I do. I am proud of me because I come from humble beginnings and I understand that life is not a cake walk for many of us.. If I can encourage the next person then I will by any means necessary.
What’s next?
I plan on doing real estate investing to create more affordable housing for people. I feel as if rent prices are rising but wages are not. I understand the sense of stability and how important it is for children to have stability in order for them to thrive. I am an empty nester so I also plan on doing some traveling and just being Thankful and Grateful for all the Blessings that has been bestowed upon me . I also now understand to whom much is given much is required. I call myself a noun lol I believe in taking action not just talk about it!!
