Check Out Baylee Mullins’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Baylee Mullins.

Hi Baylee, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey with photography began my sophomore year of high school (2020) before COVID-19 shut down our entire country and left us home for months. I was going through quite a bit of transition (even before the pandemic) and was really needing to find relief in some way.

Thankfully I got placed in a photography class at my school, Central High School! It was there that my inspiration struck alongside my outstanding teacher, Mr. John Valentine. He taught me so much about not only photography but myself. I used to spend so much time practicing, going into his class before/after school, watching YouTube videos. Anything I could get my hands on to learn more, I was doing it.

Fast forward to COVID-19 striking. Photography was the only thing I could do from the comfort of my home, or yard I should say! Thankfully I was able to venture out into a couple of secluded parts of nature, or my mom’s modeling skills, and keep doing what I love.

Now, I’ve been busier than ever capturing moments for those I love and those that are new! I couldn’t be more excited and inspired! Photographs last a lifetime and are so timeless. This life holds so much beauty and memories! That’s why I love this art so much!

Every photo captures a story and I want to be the one to help someone capture that!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road! We all as creatives go through highs & lows! At times I feel super inspired/eager and other times I just don’t feel as quite as large of a spark!

We all go through seasons like that! I’ve found that being consistent through all this change recently has helped me stay grounded and in tune with my passion.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As of now, I specialize in portraits, couples, and families!! I would love to eventually shift to weddings as I gain more experience! One thing that sets me apart is I’m willing to do/try anything!

Adventure shows personality! I want to capture it!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I always had a creative eye! I loved anything creative: drawing, crafts, painting! I believe that had a heavy factor in my creativity! I also have always been super extroverted! Photography is not just taking pictures/editing, but it’s the relationships you build with your clients!

It’s a relationship of trust, integrity, and most of all love!
