Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisha Bacon.
Hi Alisha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My photography career started in 2012. My husband was deployed that year with the Army and I took a photography class to help keep myself busy. at Pellissippi State Community College. I loved it so much that I started offering portraits sessions to friends and family, and finally taking clients within the same year.
I strived to never stop learning and growing in my photography skills and am always eager to learn new techniques. I believe that and my general determination has enabled me to grow my photography business to where it is today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course there have been some struggles and growing pains along the way. A big one was changing my specialty to better fit my schedule and lifestyle Which meant pivoting my whole business model and changing my target client. It was like rebuilding from the ground up.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in vacation portrait sessions for visitors to the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg! I mostly work with extended family of 15-40 members, capturing everyone’s love and connection to each other in beautiful mountain scapes. I’m known for stress free, easy sessions to keep your vacation peaceful.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Determination hands down. In such a competitive industry it takes determination to stay focused and achieve your goals.
