Hi Rose, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Oh gosh! My story… Well, I gave up alcohol on Jan. 01, 2021. And thats a basic story of spontaneous sobriety. I just literally was sitting at my neighborhood bar having a beer snd a shot ( well, more than one!) and simply said, “ thats it! I am done drinking“. And I was. Never have touched another drop since!
Strange how things seemingly fall in your lap… i decided to search Amazon for non alcohol items… expecting some cool flavored waters… and Ritual Zero Proof Tequila popped up from my search 😳
WHAT? I had no idea that zero proof spirits existed.
That was the start of my “rabbit hole“ into the non alc space.
Add a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes to the mx several months later… and my quest for Zero Sugar, Zero Alcohol started.
Hello Zero, LLC began from this journey. I make adult non alcohol, no sugar creations.
Working with Chris Marshall of SANS BAR in Austin Texas and Christine Wayne of ON THE MOCKS, I have been advocating for inclusive drinking. Sober serious, sober curious, and sometimes sober is an idea for everyone.
The incredible people I have met in this space is mind blowing. Ian and Carly Blessing of ALL THE BITTER, non alcohol bitters that are literally a labor of love, along with Laura Silverman of ZPN ( zero proof nation) are making a difference and I want to be part of the movement.
Knoxville has a good sober community but I hope to help make it one of the best in the country.
I have some exciting ideas that I hope will be well received here in East Tennessee. I would like to involve UTK in one of my biggest plans to date, which all of my mentors will be helping bring to fruition.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing in life is ever really smooth, is it?
There have been definite challenges.
The biggest obstacle is getting people to understand about alternative options to alcohol.

I promote non alcohol brands
i create zero sugar zero alcohol drinks for restaurants and events
i educate on zero proof alternatives
I am different in that I ONLY create zero and very low sugar options.
I am proud of being published in SOBER, TOO, a book about becoming sober.
i am proud of the example I set for others to follow.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Oh wow! Absolutely! No one succeeeds alone in this journey!
Chris Marshall has been instrumental in my life. He owns SANS BAR in Austin and was one, if not the, first non alcohol bar in America. He runs SANS BAR ACADEMY, which is a 5-6 month cohort that is basically a how to for the non alcohol space.
Christine Wayne of ON THE MOCKS, has held my hand more than once.
Richard Loud, Ian and Carly Blessing have been there to cheer me on.
