Hi Kelly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The genesis of Hydr865 is two fold. I was out of town for a weekend and ended up getting an IV infusion for the first time and really enjoyed it and the benefits it offered. Growing up in the country in middle Tennessee, my family had several gardens so we always had fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins from the nutrient dense soil. I attribute a diet full of strong vitamins to providing me with a strong immune system. I feel that current foods sold at stores are stripped of much needed vitamins and nutrients to help keep us healthy. As a full-time realtor, I was searching for commercial space for a client and came across the space that Hydr865 is located. It was not a good fit for my client, but it was a great location for me to start an IV infusion business to help provide Knoxville residents and visitors with vitamins to help them feel their best and help with any vitamin deficiencies.
Another aspect of our business is a prescription weight-loss plan with semaglutide or tirzepatide, the generic forms of Ozempic and Mounjaro. I started Mounjaro when it was covered by my insurance, but eventually my health insurance stopped covering it. I went to the pharmacy to pick up my order and was absolutely shocked at the price without insurance. That is another reason I started Hydr865, I wanted to give people the option to purchase this product to help with diabetes or weight loss without attaching an astronomical price tag to it. Providing a safe path and low economical-barrier to entry to the product . Once again, our goal is to help people feel their best and a huge part of that is feeling great on the inside about yourself. Losing weight and keeping it off is a huge part of that for many people.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anytime someone starts a new business there are definitely hurdles to overcome, processes to put in place, and a general learning curve. Those are common and I have been very blessed with leaders in the industry both locally and on a national level assisting me when I had questions. Our licensed medical director and nurses are very knowledgeable and bring a wealth of medical knowledge to Hydr865 that many of our clients have benefited from. Some clients may come in for one service but start talking to our nurse about another health issue and they leave with a clear path on how to resolve the health issue they discussed. To circle back around to the question, the largest struggle was waiting on the lease to be approved and the build out to be completed. The idea and business plan had been made almost a year in advance before we were able to open the door and see the first client. Being patient is a huge struggle for me, LOL.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Hydr865 we focus on what the client needs within our list of services. One of our strengths is our customer service, we sit and listen and go through our services to see which service will best address the client’s ailments or worries. We want each client to leave feeling valued and like their concerns were taken serious and we listened. We specialize in prescription weight loss and our IV infusions. Our most popular IV infusions are the Energy Boost, Immunity Boost, and Hangover Relief. If someone is planning a busy week or weekend, for example, going to a music festival, camping/hiking, sports tournaments, etc… the Energy Boost is great to keep you hydrated and provide the energy you need. The Immunity Boost is wonderful to use during the cold/flu season or if you plan on traveling and will be around a large group of people like at an airport, bus station, on tours, or at conferences. The Immunity Boost adds an extra layer of defense to your immune system to help combat against germs and vitamins. Our Hangover Relief is great to do prior to or after a party night/weekend to help prevent or relieve hangover symptoms such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, and dehydration.
We are most proud when a client returns. When a client returns you know you did your job correctly the first time and provided a service and environment that someone wants to return to. There are several wonderful IV infusion clinics in the area, so when a client chooses us and returns, it is a true blessing and something to be proud of.
What makes you happy?
OMG! I love this questions. One thing that makes me extremely happy is seeing a clients confidence increase as they start to lose weight. For some people it is like a math formula, when the weight decreases the confidence increases. Seeing someone become comfortable in their skin and become the person they were meant to be is truly an amazing experience and one that makes me very happy. I want everyone to live their best life and be their most authentic and unapologetic self.
