Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Ogle
Hi Jim, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
This is my 25th year in the wedding Business. My friend Beverly Kerr got me into weddings because she has a keen eye for talent! I spent the the next decade learning from her and following her example. She is an awesome human being. When Beverly decided to retire, my wife Tiffany and I purchased Soecial Notes and Tiffany has led us into the 40th year of Special Notes Entertainment Agency!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a wonderful ride. I have met so many wonderful people in the area. They inspire me to work hard as we all help to build this wonderful community. Covid 19 hit our industry like a freight train. With a lot of tears and hard work, our industry is rallying and the future is bright.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The Creative side of weddings has gone through a major change since the pandemic. My job is to play the music the client has asked for. Staying in a format is easy if you have experience in that genre. The way people consume music now is completely different than ten years ago. Groups usually tend to connect with a song for around a minute to a minute and a half.. Rarely is a song played in its entirety, with the exception of Rocky Top!
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
My industry shifts with the the times. I see a lot more Event Style / Mobile DJs coming on line, and as they gain experience, Knoxville Events will become more and more fun!
