Today we’d like to introduce you to Carly Rogers.
Hi Carly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Originally from Bennington, Vermont; I began performing the National Anthem at hometown events when I was 5, starting with the Catamount BMX Track at Willow Park. From there, I participated in music programs, rock & roll bands, summer camps, choruses, events, and musicals whenever available.
I moved to Nashville shortly after graduating high school at the ripe age of 17 pursuing an entertainment industry Studies & Marketing degree from Belmont University while also hustling to make it as a singer and songwriter. Before completing college, I was awarded a #1 Billboard Plaque for my song “Step On It” with Ryan Upchurch from his chart-topping album “Everlasting Country.”
Amassing billions of total streams across platforms for all of my music, it’s safe to say, I chose the right path to where I’m at today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has most certainly not been a smooth road. Between the hundreds of lonely nights in hotel rooms and the 500,000+ miles of driving by myself to learning how to maneuver around the city, both physically and professionally.
I look back on my journey through my early 20s as nothing short of tumultuous; however, the rollercoaster of events I’ve been, both, fortunate, and unfortunate to stumble through has only made me that much more ready for my next 20 years.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
All of the “hats” I wear: Songwriter, singer, social media manager, social media influencer, accountant, bookkeeper, manager, tour manager, agent, promoter, driver, and last (but certainly not least) planner.
I specialize primarily in social media and artistry. I’m most proud of my ability to adapt in order to continue progressing, avoiding stagnation. A lot of other artists/influencers become stagnant.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’m not sure if pure “luck” has ever had a part in my life or in my business; however, the opportunity seems to constantly present itself to me. I’m consistently finding new ways to out-do myself (and others) while also consistently finding new speed bumps in the road.
It’s always about how you maneuver both that determines one’s “luck,” in my opinion.
