Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan McKee.
Hi Bryan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was a chef for over 16 years. At the end of my career, I decided to get my finance degree. I got a job in banking with the desire to become a financial advisor. After we bought our first house using our veteran home loan benefit, I knew then I wanted to become a mortgage advisor. I wanted to share the experience I received with many other people. I fell in love with this business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. The First 2 years were rough as hell. I made less money than I had when I was salary. I didn’t know how to market. I had no leadership or training. I was on my own to learn the whole business. I became overwhelmed, depressed, and scared among many other emotions.
I almost got out of the business. But something was tugging at me to stay in it. It was at the end of 2018 that I decided to go all in. I thought I was before but I was too focused on my failing and not enough on the future.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a huge foodie and chef. I create a lot of content around food. It has become my branding in business as well.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the outdoors. I love watching the food scene explode. When I can here, there wasn’t really anything good. Now, there are amazing restaurants and breweries everywhere.
