Meet Mieka Schambach of Knoxville (Halls)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mieka Schambach.

Hi Mieka, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It started at home. Our two kids love Nerf wars, and during COVID, our house became the ultimate battlefield. Dodging behind sofas, setting up forts – we saw the pure joy and energy that came from these foam dart battles.

That spark ignited an idea: Why not create a dedicated space in Knoxville for this kind of active, engaging fun? A place for epic parties and group events, without worrying about breaking lamps!

And so, B&B was born. We built it from a love for family fun and active play, wanting to share that unforgettable experience with our Knoxville community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — starting a unique business like this comes with unexpected challenges. One of the biggest hurdles we faced was navigating zoning and occupancy regulations. Time and time again, we’d find what felt like the perfect location, only to discover that our type of business didn’t fit within the local zoning requirements. It was frustrating and disheartening at times, especially when we had momentum and vision but kept hitting roadblocks.

That said, every challenge pushed us to get more creative and resilient. We’ve learned a lot through the process, and those early struggles have made us even more grateful for the space we’re in now and the community we’ve built around it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At our core, we’re more than just foam dart battles — we’re building a space where kids (and even adults) can disconnect from screens and reconnect with each other. Our mission is to bring back real-life fun: the kind that gets you moving, talking, laughing, and making memories with your friends face-to-face.

We specialize in creating immersive, action-packed foam dart experiences for ages 6 and up. Whether it’s walk-in play, birthday parties, or weekend tournaments, our arena is designed to encourage teamwork, strategic thinking, and good old-fashioned fun — without the need for technology.

What we’re most proud of is the community we’ve built. We don’t just serve local families — we collaborate with other small businesses by hosting pop-up weekends and vendor events. Supporting other entrepreneurs and giving them a platform is just as important to us as the battles on the field.

What sets us apart is our commitment to screen-free, people-first play. In a time when kids are more plugged in than ever, we’re offering a high-energy alternative where imagination and interaction take center stage. Our space isn’t just about nerf wars — it’s about connection, confidence, and community.
