Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Young.
Hi Jen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I entered the workforce in 2016 after being a stay-at-home momma to three amazing boys and working odds and ends and part time. I was working part-time at the front desk of Gettysvue, trying to wrap my head around being newly divorced and the sole provider to three children, when a Member asked if I would work for him, doing marketing, at his title company. Once there, I learned anything and everything anyone would teach me, and I pushed myself to learn the business and the Knoxville real estate industry. Flash forward to today, over many hurdles, obstacles, bumps, bruises, and letdowns, I opened Legacy Title in April of 2022, with three teenage boys cheering for me every step of the way.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth and easy? No. Not at all. No way. Being everywhere and wearing all the hats is challenging! – mother, daughter, sister, friend, carpooler, business owner, employer, marketer, accountant, janitor, therapist, community leader, board member…. I have learned more about myself and what I am capable of doing in the last year, than I could in one lifetime!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Legacy Title gives me the great privilege to glimpse at people building their legacy! We honor the sellers who might have raised their family in the home they are now leaving, headed to their next adventure. We are helping new home homeowners achieve their dream of homeownership and celebrating the road it took to get there. I get to work with realtors who work incredibly hard to get contracts put together and lenders who spend countless hours getting finances put together. It is not lost on me how many wonderful folks it takes to get to the closing table!

My three boys matter most to me; they are my legacy. I am building this for us and everyone else who wants more for their lives.
