Hi Hannah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
All of my life I have loved kids and played with them, for the pure joy and excitement that they can bring to any situation. This led me to become a teacher. I absolutely loved it and delighted in my students. After having my first child, I knew a huge life change was in store for me. I wanted to stay home with my child as he grew up, developing and learning new things.
In the back of my head, I knew I still wanted to find a way to provide joy to other kids. That’s when I really began observing my son as he learned the world through sensory exploration. He loved climbing on everything! The idea began to grow of providing people with a safe, enclosed space that was filled with soft play equipment for their little ones.
Many times at events, the older kids have playgrounds and bounce houses, but the littlest toddler didn’t have anything. With my background in education and development, I began to research ways to provide this. That is where the idea for Knox Tots took off.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall, it has been a smoother ride than most.
Of course, there are added expenses and the learning curves of owning a business. But, I have had an amazing support system that has helped me whenever I need it! I think that is one of the most important things to have when wanted to start a business.

We are proud to say that Knox Tots is East Tennessee’s first mobile soft play business. Our play areas offer a safe and fun environment for little ones, from crawlers to preschool age, to interact with and develop social and gross motor skills.
We have soft foam climbers, ball pits, crawl tunnels, large soft blocks, and animal hoppers in toddler-friendly enclosed areas. Being parents ourselves, we know the importance of having a clean play area, that is why our equipment is thoroughly sanitized prior to every setup. Knox Tots can be set up both indoors and out.
You name the place and we bring the fun to keep your guests entertained for hours – birthday parties, private and community events, weddings – you name it! We will bring the setup to your event and set it up, then come back after the event and tear it down for you.
