Hi Darius, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Daddy’s Famous Fye Chicken got its name from whom at the time was a seven-year-old girl named Leneah Daniels. Leneah is my youngest daughter. She would often request “ daddy’s famous chicken “ for dinner.
My wife and I consulted about possibly going into business, little did we know we’d soon be actual business owners!! Family cookouts and friendly gatherings became a regular destination to find me on the grill/smoker. Finally, I’d had enough of people telling us how “fye” (fire) our food was.
That’s when we knew we had to share this wonderful discovery with the entire world!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Upon opening, we had absolutely no experience in the pop-up kitchen profession, besides a few jobs in the kitchen at various different places.
We also faced equipment shortages and malfunction. A few windy days almost blew us away along with our canopy.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a master griller!!
I’ve managed to combine two different ways of using a smoker/grill to create some of the best-tasting hickory-smoked food you could imagine. People Continuously acknowledge the decadent taste of my famous wings and their various partnerships of flavors.
