Inspiring Conversations with Sarah Greenway of Oak Park Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Greenway.

Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had a creative side. Before I became a nurse and then advancing to nurse anesthesia, I worked for 7 years as a wedding planner and floral designer. Pursuing a career in the field of nursing was a calling for me, and while I loved giving anesthesia and taking care of patients, I still had a desire to do something artistic. When I was 36 I got botox for the first time and I was hooked! The results were amazing and I thought, “I could do this!” So, that was the beginning of pursuing a pathway into the world of aesthetics. I have 2 college degrees, a masters degree in anesthesia and 11 years in nursing. All of my years of education, experience caring for patients, and study of anatomy and physiology prepared me for the medical side of aesthetics and allows me to give beautiful natural looking results.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly the hardest part has been figuring out all the minutiae of owning my own business. Having a good accountant helps! However, the scariest part was leaving my full time job as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to balance the demand of growing clientele and focus on building Oak Park Aesthetics.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Oak Park Aesthetics offers tox, fillers, prp micro-needling facials, skincare and chemical peels. I love doing lip filler and because of my anesthesia background, I do anesthetic blocks for lips and that makes it virtually painless. I am the solo injector of Oak Park Aesthetics, so when you come you’ll see me personally. I believe in assessing every patient and recommending products or services that will enhance my client’s God given beauty. My goal is to create a beautiful natural look, not selling you as much filler as I could possibly inject. I’m not a fan of the “over-done” look. I want clients to look refreshed and rejuvenated, like they just came back from a relaxing vacation!

What were you like growing up?
Oh gosh! I was into everything! When I was in elementary school I loved putting on shows for my family. I would make up skits, songs and dances. I did gymnastics, soccer and loved to waterski. I cheered and played soccer in high school. I played violin in the orchestra. I was fortunate enough to grow up on Fort Loudon in Knoxville, and I still love to be around water whether it’s the lake, the beach, or the river. I really wanted to go to Rhode Island School of Design after high school for fashion design, but my family encouraged me to get a traditional degree first. I changed my major 5 times and finally ended up with a math degree because I was good at it. I’m glad I went that route because I met my now husband of 22 years and it was an easy transition to getting my bachelors in nursing later.
