Today we’d like to introduce you to John Carlevato
Hi John, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am from Ghana, West Africa. I was raised in a small village in Ghana and was blessed with an opportunity through an organization called “Feeding the Orphans” to be adopted here to the United States. I arrived here when I was seven, by the grace of God. America provided me with a future that I did not have in Ghana. My family owned a small farm, and at a very young age my help was needed to help work it. From sunrise to sunset, we farmed with the hopes of having enough food to survive on day at a time. This experience was crucial in developing my work ethic, but most importantly my faith with Jesus Christ.
My little sister and I got adopted into a family of six, making it now a family of eight. I grew up playing soccer with others in the orphanage, so when I came here I fit right in with my family as my siblings also played soccer. I love being active so I got involved in many sports such as soccer, football, track, basketball, baseball, and swim. I’ve always loved to compete and win. Ended my sports career at West High School playing Linebacker and Quarterback for the 2022 State Championship team.
I’ve always wanted to have my own business. I grew up going on business trips with my dad who is in sales, loved seeing what he did so I knew I wanted to do something business wise. Towards the end of my senior year of high school, I started shadowing different business fields to get more of an idea for what I wanted to do. I then concluded that I wanted start a service based business. After doing some research, I decided on starting a window cleaning business. Window cleaning was low cost to start, and I could make my investment back quickly. I started by practicing at my house, started advertising to friends and family, and then I focused on door to door advertising.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. It was hard to start growing a client base. Since I am young and just starting out, it was hard to compete with those who had more experience in the field, as well as money. I did not run ads nor had the money to, so I relied on going door to door and word of mouth from clients served.

I define success as hitting the target, and not just anywhere on the target but the bullseye. The target for our business is to provide our clients with pristine work. After doing so, and they have the biggest smile you have seen on their faces, that’s when we know we succeeded.
