Today we’d like to introduce you to Fungbeh Karmue.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I’m Fungbeh Karmue, a local business owner and realtor serving Tennessee. Born in Liberia in ’86, my family fled the civil war to Ivory Coast and the US. My parents’ dedication to community service inspired me to pursue a career in real estate. Today, I help families find their dream homes and invest in their futures. I’ve happily married Conwedee Karmue, a local Family Nurse Practitioner, for ten years. We have three children aged 3, 6, and 9. With a background in customer service and business, I became a Realtor in 2019. I prioritize clients’ needs and genuinely care about their well-being, guiding them through the figuring process. In 2022, I started KG Fencing Company to serve home and business owners’ fencing needs, applying my customer service and business skills. Juggling the two professions has been fulfilling and possible because they go hand in hand. I do it to serve my community and family, and I’m grateful for their support and trust.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been a crucial part of my growth. Watching my parents and family persevere through the challenges of immigrating to the US in the early 90s and adapting to the changes that impacted them was a defining moment for me. The lessons of hard work and determination were instilled in me early. Both my parents were entrepreneurs who started pharmacies while serving their community in Liberia. After arriving in the US, my mother returned to school while my father worked odd jobs to support our family. I have worked various jobs, such as serving at restaurants, phlebotomy, barbering, and customer service, while supporting my wife and family like my father. Despite the challenges, every experience has prepared me for my current work. The growing pains of figuring out what I wanted to do and the obstacles I faced along the way have shaped me into the person I am today. I am grateful for the lessons learned and the opportunity to use my experiences to help others.

As a realtor serving East Tennessee, I take pride in being able to guide people through the often complex and overwhelming process of buying or selling a home. With a sharp eye for detail and a passion for helping others, I specialize in real estate services that include home buying and selling. My goal is to help my clients navigate the market easily and confidently, providing valuable insights and guidance every step of the way. In addition to my real estate services, I am the proud owner of KG Fencing Company, which serves the fencing needs of home and business owners in the region. I take the same care and attention to detail with my fencing business as with my real estate clients, ensuring that each project is completed with the highest quality and craftsmanship. My dedication to serving the community sets my brand apart from others. Whether through my real estate services or fencing company, I am committed to providing exceptional customer service, building lasting relationships, and giving back to the community that has given me so much.
What’s next?
As someone deeply committed to customer service and serving the community, my plans for the future involve expanding my real estate business and fencing company to reach even more people in East Tennessee. I’m always looking for ways to improve and grow through new marketing strategies, investing in new technology, or expanding my team. I’m also excited to continue giving back to the community through various initiatives and community service projects. While there may be changes in the future, my core values of exceptional customer service and dedication to the community will always remain the same.
