Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Thomas.
Casey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve loved traveling for as long as I can remember. I first thought about working in the travel industry in college, when I took an internship writing travel articles for a local agency. Life eventually took me in a different direction, and working in travel became a dream that cropped up every now and again. I’d think about doing it but never got very far – there was always a reason to put it off.
In 2018, I was working with a travel agent, and someone close to me asked why I wasn’t just doing it! And suddenly, I realized – because I hadn’t chased my dream. At that moment, I decided it was time. Within a month, I’d created my business, built a website, and launched She’s All Booked.
At the time, I had no idea what I was doing or where I wanted to go. It was a side gig – my goal was to have fun, and make enough money to fund my own annual vacation. It wasn’t until almost two years later – right before the pandemic hit – that I realized how much I loved what I was doing, and wanted to see how far the business could grow.
I started a process to rebrand myself as a travel advisor – not an agent – and focused on providing a more custom, personalized experience. She’s All Booked was born from my passion for going places, and my goal is to help others do the same.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The pandemic has definitely been a challenge for the entire travel industry! We’ve all had to adapt to not only the way the pandemic has disrupted travel, but changing requirements, traveler concerns, and a whole host of other challenges.
For me, it’s meant taking a long look at why I started She’s All Booked in the first place, and how to best support my travelers in a situation where they’re unable to do the very thing they love the most. For the past two years, that’s meant being there for them, to answer questions, provide information, and also serve as a source of hope and optimism that we can get through this together.
We’ve done a lot of daydreaming, we’ve shared virtual travel experiences, and we’ve spent plenty of time commiserating together. As the world opens back up and people feel comfortable traveling again, it’s even more fulfilling to be able to watch their dreams come to fruition.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
She’s All Booked is a full-service travel agency specializing in sun, sand, and summits. We design custom trips for travelers seeking luxury without pretense, and pride ourselves on personal attention and exceptional support before, during, and after your travel. We believe life is about going places, and that the best journeys are taken together.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking?
For me, the risk isn’t as much about whether or not you’ll succeed or fail as it is about believing in your own ability to adapt to your circumstances. And, setting yourself up with the right resources – whether that’s information, finances, or someone to encourage you when you’re questioning yourself – makes a huge difference.
I do believe that the scariest things often turn out to be the best choices we can make, but I also believe in arming yourself with enough information to take out some of the fear. I guess you could say I’m a calculated risk-taker!
