Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Cunningham.
Hi Todd, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started this journey that ultimately has led to the formation of Cunningham Creations Co. LLC. In approximately 2016. At that time, I was working as a Foreman for a commercial construction company and started building Custom farmhouse tables just as a hobby and for a little extra money. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and that slowly progressed into daybed swings, Pergolas, and other things to fit clients’ needs.
I then began noticing local advertisements and online ads for playsets from various companies and decided that I could certainly build those types of things and enjoy the creative aspect it would bring while still being comparable with the market costs of other companies and so that niche of my building began. As unfortunate as things would go I became furloughed from my full-time position when Covid first began in January 2020 and thus began my journey into starting everything to where I am now.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it has been a fairly calm road with a hiccup thrown in now and again. Most of my struggles come from making each clients’ vision into a reality with the space they have to work with. Sometimes though these problems tend to end up being the most fun part of the job as you get to think back when you were a kid and to what things you would have enjoyed and to incorporate that vision into each set.
I would say though that the biggest hurdle I have faced so far has been the availability and cost of materials and products. There was a time in 2020 that pressure-treated wood costs rose 151% and certain playset products such as spiral slides became scarce which caused a supply issue for a short-lived period.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in playsets/swingsets and custom treehouses that are functional and affordable for the average family. I often tell potential clients that I certainly am not any less expensive than sets you can find online, I am probably a little more but what I do bring to the table is that clients are able to customize the features they want on their build as well as incorporating their existing landscape to fit their wants and needs.

I am a very proud father of three amazing boys ages 23,15 and 13 for whom the Company name is derived from( 3 C’s for each of the Cunningham boys, CCC- Cunningham Creations Co.).
